In case you didn't know it, Belgium has a seacoast! And that seacoast has a sandy beach and a friendly little boardwalk. A few weeks ago a friend and I got the train and arrived at the coast about two hours later. I was ecstatic to be able to take a train and be at a coast in just two hours...this is the closest I have lived to one! It's nice to just get up and go spend the day at the beach. Once at the coast we rented bicycles and biked about 15 km down the coast enjoying the scenery and the sun. European beaches are really interesting to me compared to the ones at home because they put so much on the actual sand--all these little house, lawn chairs for rent, and children's play things. There is much more color and random things to see, sometimes it reminded me of a carnival.
