It's been awhile since I've been back in my hometown sitting around a table or on a couch with my friends there. I just read a blog from 2006 when I rejoiced in that time together and now two years later I find that it has been an awfully long time since I've been back to that place. Our lives have all continued to change and evolve. We continue to move forward, making new friends, creating new ambitions, and sitting around new couches and new tables. I am blessed that within each transition in my life I have been able to find friends who become a link in my ever growing support system. My friends from home and my family will always be the center as they were there first and now, even when we fail to communicate and keep in touch, provide the strongest support and encouragement for me since they've seen where I have come from and have faith in where I am going. ah, friends, writing about them makes me sound all mushy.
On the news front...I am well. I continue to try to work hard and to enjoy the time that I don't work. This past weekend I went to Lille, France to visit my American friend who recently departed Brussels and is missed. As we dodged dog poop and tried to avoid the rain, it turned into a nice relaxing weekend spent with some good American friends and a cat. This weekend I am preparing to go to Madrid to visit yet another friend and am excited that I have four entire days off!
